Overview

ChatGPT Navigator is a Chrome extension that helps users navigate long conversations on chatgpt.com by letting them pin anchors, jump back via a top bar stepper, rename steps, and mark steps as done.

Data collection

We do not collect, transmit, or sell personal data.

We do not upload chat content to any external server.

Local storage (on-device)

To provide the navigation feature, the extension stores the minimum necessary data locally in your browser using Chrome storage (chrome.storage), such as:

• Anchor metadata/locator info (used to jump back to a pinned location)
• User-defined step titles
• Step completion status

This data stays on your device and is not shared with third parties.

Third-party sharing

We do not share user data with third parties.

Security

Because data is stored locally and not transmitted, no chat content is sent over the network by this extension.

User choices / deletion

You can remove the stored data at any time by:

• Removing anchors within the extension UI, or
• Uninstalling the extension (which removes its local storage).
